Tomorrow Saturday, April 16th, is the Fourth annual Record Store Day! If you’re in the Nashville area please join April Smith and the Great Picture Show for a free special in-store performance at Grimey’s at noon!

Record Store Day is a celebration of the Independent Record Store, created by the Indie Retail Coalitions along with several other mom & pop stores and regional music chains. In their own words:

This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and hundreds of artists in the United States and in various countries across the globe make special appearances and performances. Festivities include performances, cook-outs, body painting, meet & greets with artists, parades, DJs spinning records and on and on.

This year, over 700 stores in the U.S. will participate, with hundreds more worldwide. For more details, you can check out the Record Store Day website at:

We were asked to donate a track to the Joey’s Song For Kids CD and we jumped at the chance! This incredibly wonderful organization raises money for epilepsy research and advocacy in honor of Joey Gomoll. Joey was not even 5 years old when Dravet’s Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy, claimed his life. All of the Joey’s Song CDS feature rare and unreleased tracks from artists like Crash Test Dummies, Cowboy Junkies, Tracy Bonham and more! So get yourself and some newer, smaller people some great new music in support of a good cause!

If you were watching American Idol last night, you might have heard a familiar voice…MINE! “Can’t Say No” was featured in last night’s episode while the lovely JLo showed everybody what a big ol’ softy she is. If you missed the big moment, or if you just want to forward the video to 500 friends and family members like my mom probably did, watch below:
